I have over 20 years experience teaching piano, recorder, viola, theory and composition.  I am a qualified teacher (Primary PGCE), have a first class honours degree in music and a master’s degree in composition.  I have an 100% pass rate for ABRSM examinations.

Lessons for adults and children are available in piano, recorder, viola, violin, theory and composition.   I offer lessons to students of all ages and abilities and particularly enjoy working with beginners. Adult beginners are most welcome! Many of my pupils are successful in graded music exams; however, others prefer to learn for their own enjoyment.  All I ask is that you have your own instrument to practise on and are willing to commit to regular lessons. The frequency of lessons varies. Lessons can be weekly, fortnightly, or even monthly, depending on the needs of the individual student.

Piano lessons for younger children (age 4+) incorporate general musicianship and a gradual introduction to the piano when ready.

I currently have availability during the afternoons and evenings, and also on Saturday mornings.

I also offer one off lessons or a series of lessons leading to a particular goal, for example an exam. I offer coaching for theory exams, including ARBSM grade 5 theory.

After many years based in Camberley, Surrey, I have now relocated with my family to Hythe in Kent.  I teach from home (currently via zoom) in central Hythe.  In line with government guidelines, I hope to be able to offer face to face lessons for children from the start of the summer term.  Adult face to face lessons will hopefully commence from 17th May.  I am currently teaching all pupils via zoom.

Prices start from £17 for a half an hour lesson.  Please contact me for more information.
