I have over 15 years experience teaching piano, recorder, viola, theory and composition. I am a qualified teacher (Primary PGCE), have a first class honours degree in music and a master’s degree in composition.
Lessons for adults and children are available in piano, recorder, viola, violin, theory and composition. I offer lessons to students of all ages and abilities and particularly enjoy working with beginners. Adult beginners are most welcome! Many of my pupils are successful in graded music exams; however, others prefer to learn for their own enjoyment. All I ask is that you have your own instrument to practise on and are willing to commit to regular lessons. The frequency of lessons varies. Lessons can be weekly, fortnightly, or even monthly, depending on the needs of the individual student.
Piano lessons for younger children (age 3+) incorporate general musicianship and a gradual introduction to the piano when ready.
I currently have availability on weekday mornings and before 3pm on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. I also have limited availability on Monday and Friday evenings.
I also offer one off lessons or a series of lessons leading to a particular goal, for example an exam. I offer coaching for theory exams, including ARBSM grade 5 theory.
I teach from home, in Camberley, Surrey, in our purpose built music studio.
